    Automotive Service Technology

    The Automotive Service Technology program at Chisholm Trail Technology Center provides comprehensive, hands-on instruction aligned with ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) standards. Designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in the automotive repair industry, this program emphasizes real-world skill development through diagnostic work, mechanical training, and customer-based repair scenarios.

    Instruction takes place in a fully equipped automotive lab, where students utilize industry-current tools and technologies to inspect, maintain, and repair modern vehicle systems. The program progresses from fundamental mechanical concepts to advanced troubleshooting techniques, with a consistent focus on safety, technical accuracy, and workforce readiness.

    Over the course of the two-year program, students have the opportunity to complete up to eight ASE entry-level certification exams. Upon graduation and the accumulation of two years of industry experience, students may qualify for full ASE Certification—an industry-recognized credential that significantly enhances career mobility.

  • Construction Trades

    The Construction Trades program at Chisholm Trail Technology Center prepares high school juniors and seniors for careers in residential, commercial, and industrial construction through hands-on training and real-world building experiences. This two-year program develops the technical skills, craftsmanship, and work ethic required to succeed in the construction industry.

    Students learn construction fundamentals through extensive instruction in jobsite safety, OSHA standards, hand and power tool operation, blueprint reading, construction math, rigging and material handling, and building layout. As students advance, they gain practical experience in forms and foundations, framing, cabinetmaking, finish carpentry, countertop construction, and installation techniques.

    The curriculum emphasizes problem-solving, teamwork, precision, and professional practices while exposing students to the complete construction process from planning and layout to project completion. Through project-based learning, students apply classroom concepts in hands-on environments that mirror real construction settings.

    The Electrical Trades program at Chisholm Trail Technology Center prepares high school juniors and seniors for careers in the electrical industry through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory experiences, and real-world applications. This comprehensive program develops the technical knowledge and practical skills required for success as an electrical apprentice and future electrician.

    Students gain experience in electrical theory, electrical distribution systems, wiring methods, motor controls, blueprint reading, and the National Electrical Code. Through hands-on projects and laboratory training, students learn how to safely install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems used in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

    The curriculum emphasizes safety, precision, and problem-solving while introducing students to industry-standard tools, meters, equipment, and installation practices. Students study alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) circuits, electric motor control systems, wiring installations, and construction-based electrical applications that reflect modern industry standards.

  • Health Careers Certification (HCC)

    The Health Careers Certification program at Chisholm Trail Technology Center offers students an in-depth introduction to the dynamic and growing field of health care. Designed for both high school students and adult learners, the program provides a comprehensive blend of academic instruction, clinical experiences, and skill-based training that prepares individuals for a variety of entry-level health care roles—or for further education in nursing and allied health.

    High school students explore health care through courses in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and basic patient care, with the opportunity to earn college credit while completing industry-aligned coursework. Adult students are offered advanced training in areas such as phlebotomy, clinical assisting, and multi-skilled patient support, building on prior experience or opening the door to a new career.

    Instruction takes place in modern classrooms and simulation labs, where students practice hands-on skills in infection control, CPR, vital signs, and medical documentation. As they progress through the program, high school and adult Certified Nurse Aide students participate in instructor-led clinical rotations at local long-term care facilities. Adult Medical Assistants and Phlebotomy students participate in clinicals supervised by our partners at iCare Urgent Care of Kingfisher, Kingfisher Clinic, and Diagnostic Larboratory of Oklahoma (DLO). During these clinical experiences students will gain real-world experience and develop essential communication, safety and ethics skills for health care environments.

    Chisholm Trail Technology Center also offers a series of short-term health careers courses throughout the year. These fast-track programs are ideal for adults seeking new certifications, reentry into the health care field, or continuing education. Available courses include:

    • Certified Medication Aide (CMA): 60 hrs (includes 24 clinical hours)
    • Advanced CMA -- Insulin or Respiratory/Gastric Administration: 18–24 hrs
    • Phlebotomy: 75 hrs
    • CNA and Home Health Aide Combo: 107 hrs
    • CMA Continuing Education Update: 8 hrs

    These short-term classes are led by licensed instructors and provide flexible, practical pathways into Oklahoma’s health care workforce.

  • Information Technology & Networking

    The Information Technology and Networking program at Chisholm Trail Technology Center offers students a hands-on, career-focused education that prepares them for the evolving world of technology. As organizations across every industry depend on secure, efficient technology systems, the demand for trained IT professionals continues to grow. This program delivers the technical training and industry certification preparation needed to succeed in roles across IT support, systems administration, and cybersecurity.

    Students learn in a dynamic lab environment that mirrors real-world settings, working with up-to-date hardware, networking equipment, and industry simulation tools. They gain experience with both client-side and networked systems, exploring how computers communicate, how data is secured, and how systems are managed at scale.

    Instruction is built around nationally recognized platforms including Cisco Networking Academy and TestOut, ensuring alignment with current industry standards. From installing hardware and configuring routers to managing threats and responding to breaches, students graduate with both the technical knowledge and problem-solving mindset needed to succeed in the field.

    The program offers two focused tracks to support different interests and career goals:

    • Computer Network Technician – Emphasizes the core functions of IT support, including hardware repair, system diagnostics, and basic network setup and troubleshooting.

    • Network Security Professional – Offers advanced study in cybersecurity concepts, network defense, and secure infrastructure management.

  • Practical Nursing (LPN)

    Chisholm Trail Technology Center’s Practical Nursing program is a comprehensive, full-time training opportunity designed for motivated adults seeking a rewarding career in nursing. This intensive 1360-hour program combines classroom instruction, simulation lab practice, and supervised clinical experiences in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and outpatient settings—providing students with the well-rounded preparation needed to succeed in today’s fast-paced healthcare environments.

    The curriculum emphasizes core nursing principles, including anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, IV therapy, and patient care across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Students also explore medical-surgical nursing, maternal-newborn care, and mental health nursing, ensuring they are well-prepared for a wide range of patient populations and care settings.

    Throughout the program, students engage in hands-on learning using advanced simulation mannequins, industry-standard equipment, and real-world patient scenarios. Ethical decision-making, cultural competence, and safety protocols are integrated into all instruction to build critical thinking and clinical judgment. Experienced nursing instructors provide close mentorship and individualized support, helping students grow both technically and professionally.

    Clinical rotations are a key part of the training and allow students to apply their knowledge in actual health care settings, including long-term care centers, hospitals, physician clinics, and specialty units.   • Pre-Engineering

    The Pre-Engineering program at Chisholm Trail Technology Center prepares high school juniors and seniors for success in engineering and STEM pathways through a two-year, Project Lead The Way (PLTW)-based curriculum. This program builds a strong academic and technical foundation in engineering principles, problem-solving, and applied mathematics and science.

    Students engage in hands-on, project-based learning that emphasizes the engineering design process, technical problem-solving, and the use of industry-relevant tools and concepts. Throughout the program, students develop skills in CAD design, systems thinking, and engineering analysis while applying math and science concepts in real-world engineering contexts.

    The curriculum is designed to align rigorous academics with technical application. Students complete coursework in engineering design and principles while strengthening their knowledge in mathematics and science through concurrent enrollment in courses such as Algebra II or Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry and college-preparatory science courses including physics, chemistry, or other advanced science options.

  • Welding

    The Welding program at Chisholm Trail Technology Center prepares high school juniors and seniors for successful careers in welding, fabrication, manufacturing, and construction through a comprehensive, hands-on training experience. This two-year program develops the technical knowledge, precision, and workplace skills necessary to meet industry standards and employer expectations.

    Students receive extensive instruction in multiple welding processes, including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG). Through classroom learning and shop-based projects, students gain experience in welding theory, blueprint reading, fabrication, layout, welding symbols, metal characteristics, welding codes, and oxyfuel and plasma cutting.

    The curriculum emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and real-world application. Students learn proper equipment setup, weld inspection techniques, joint fit-up and adjustment, and welding procedures used throughout the manufacturing and construction industries.
