Chisholm Trail Technology Center is a proud provider of Motorcycle Safety Foundation® (MSF) training. Whether you're a new or returning rider, our courses are designed to build your skills, boost your confidence, and prepare you for safe riding in real-world conditions. As an MSF-recognized training provider, we offer hands-on, research-based instruction in a safe, closed-course environment led by certified RiderCoaches.


Basic Rider Course (BRC) – 2-Wheel Motorcycle

The Basic Rider Course is the best starting point for anyone ready to learn how to ride. This comprehensive course combines a 3-hour online eCourse with two full days of in-person training.

Course Details

  • Online Pre-requisite: Computer eCourse
    Must be completed prior to in-person training. Print your completion certificate and bring it to class.
    *If you’re unable to print it, email it to Lacey at lwinn@cttc.edu several days before class*

  • In-Person Training Includes:

    • 5 hours of classroom instruction
    • 10 hours of on-motorcycle riding
    • Held Saturdays & Sundays | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. both days
    • Cost: $220 (non-refundable)
    • Class size limited to 8 students
  • Eligibility:

    • Must be at least 14 years old
    • Students under 18 must have a parent/guardian sign a waiver on the first day
    • Students without a driver’s license/permit must bring a birth certificate 

What to Bring – Required Riding Gear

All students must bring the following gear to every session:

  • DOT-approved helmet
  • Eye protection (sunglasses or prescription glasses acceptable)
  • Full-finger gloves
  • Long-sleeve shirt or jacket
  • Long pants (no holes)
  • Over-the-ankle boots

Enrollment & Class Availability

Due to limited seating and high demand, pre-enrollment and pre-payment are required.

  • Class dates can be rescheduled up to 48 hours in advance by calling CTTC
  • All student cancellations are non-refundable

Permit Testing Available

CTTC is now an approved testing site for:

  • Class D Driver’s License Permit (minimum age: 15½)

  • Motorcycle License Permit (minimum age: 14)

Testing is by appointment only — walk-ins are not accepted.
